Do you find yourself in that peaceful, quiet place the psalmnist is talking about? Or is your world not as peaceful as you would like? Is there confusion and you are constantly wondering if you are in the will of God, what must I do to please God? Or maybe you don't know God at all. If you haven't received Jesus as your Lord and Savior, this is why there is no peace, the devil has you just where he wants you... Here's how to change that. All you have to do is ask Jesus into your heart and let Him show you the way to a peaceful life. Just say, " God in Heaven, I am a sinner and I need a Savior. I believe Jesus died for me so I can be saved. I receive Him now as my Savior. Thank you Father, I am now a child of God, I am saved. I am born again and on my way to Heaven. Now lead me to a place where I can learn all about Jesus Who died for me...Amen". If you prayed that prayer and meant if from your heart, you are Born Again and my brethern along with millions of other brethern, Welcome to the family of God.
How about those Christians who have been born again but there is that confusion in their lives. You are doing and doing all you can to get in the will of God, but you never feel as though you have done enough. Are you feeling condemnation because someone or something is telling you, you're falling short of Gods expectations... you didn't pray enough, you didn't give enough or you missed church a few times???
Rom 8:1 THEREFORE, [there is] now no condemnation (no adjudging guilty of wrong) for those who are in Christ Jesus,AMP...
My friend, God does not bring those thoughts of guilt and condemnation, if you are in Christ, you are in right standing with God.
Rom 5:17 For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) KJV
Notice the vs. says Gift of righteousness; if it is a gift you don't have to earn it. If you are doing, doing and doing with the idea of getting God's Love, you're too late. God Loved you from the start, even before you were born. He Loved you so much that He sent His only begotten Son Jesus to die for you. Not only does he Love you, He even likes you. Now if you are doing because the Love of God is prompting you, to do so is a good thing, that means you are lead of the Lord. But those who are trying to achieve those things that are already given are living according to the law. Jesus came so we wouldn't have to live under the law, we now live under Grace.
Gal 3:1-5 AMP 3:1 O YOU poor and silly and thoughtless and unreflecting and senseless Galatians! Who has fascinated or bewitched or cast a spell over you, unto whom - right before your very eyes - Jesus Christ (the Messiah) was openly and graphically set forth and portrayed as crucified?
2 Let me ask you this one question: Did you receive the [Holy] Spirit as the result of obeying the Law and doing its works, or was it by hearing [the message of the Gospel] and believing [it]? [Was it from observing a law of rituals or from a message of faith?]
3 Are you so foolish and so senseless and so silly? Having begun [your new life spiritually] with the [Holy] Spirit, are you now reaching perfection [by dependence] on the flesh?
4 Have you suffered so many things and experienced so much all for nothing (to no purpose) - if it really is to no purpose and in vain?
5 Then does He Who supplies you with His marvelous [Holy] Spirit and works powerfully and miraculously among you do so on [the grounds of your doing] what the Law demands, or because of your believing in and adhering to and trusting in and relying on the message that you heard?
The Galatians were saved out of the law by the Gospel of Grace and now someone has talked them into going back to the law???? If a person truly understands the message of the cross, then he understands grace. Jesus didn't just make a token sacrifice for us. He paid it all. There's no sacrifice that we can make that will add to or replace the sacrifice of Christ. Preaching that our own holiness is required to receive from God is voiding the sacrifice of Christ. That's a type of the law and Christ has redeemed us from the "curse of the law:,
Gal 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: KJV
Friend, the Gospel is easy, it takes a well trained religious person to mess it up in your life. If serving God is a burden, you are going in the wrong direction. Hear what Jesus said,"
Matt 11:29-29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. KJV
I pray you find the peace Jesus came to give you...
In His Name...Larry
